Our Sires
At Black Tie Great Danes, we do not currently maintain a resident stud; instead, we carefully select sires from established programs that align with our standards and long-term goals. This approach allows us to make each breeding decision based on merit, compatibility, and the specific needs of our females—rather than convenience.
Every sire we use is thoroughly evaluated prior to breeding and must meet strict criteria, including:
- Comprehensive, breed-appropriate health testing
- Proven structure and movement consistent with the Great Dane standard
- Stable, reliable temperament
- Strong pedigree with an emphasis on health, longevity, and consistency
- Demonstrated quality, often through conformation or performance titles
Each pairing is intentionally planned to complement our dams, reinforce strengths, and improve upon areas where refinement is needed. By selecting sires on a case-by-case basis, we maintain flexibility in our program while continuing to prioritize preservation, quality, and the advancement of the breed.
